Sometimes the rockiest paths lead to the most beautiful places.
When you walk along the coast of Nova Scotia you have to cover a lot of rocky ground to get to a beautiful view of the sea. Winding your way through fields of rocks and boulders gives you many chances to trip and fall. But if you keep moving forward, getting up when you take a misstep, you are rewarded with a beautiful view.
Few things in life are accomplished by walking a straight path. Getting in shape and losing weight is like a walk on one of those rocky paths with ups and downs and detours around obstacles blocking your way. But in the end it is often the obstacles that you overcome that makes the journey worthwhile.
When I am walking those rocky paths in Nova Scotia, the fact that I have to work to get to the beautiful views makes me enjoy them that much more.
