It is that time of the year when the days are getting shorter and darker. We wake up in the dark and we drive home from work in the dark. For those of us who want to stay on our walking schedule and who have a dog the PupLight makes walking in the dark safer and easier.
The PupLight is a very bright LED light attached to a collar that easily slips around your dogs neck. The light beam is bright enough that oncoming cars can easily see you. The focused beam of light brightens the path in front of you allowing you to see debris in the road, curbs, etc.
My sister has a huge, heavily wooded back yard. When I take Jaycee (my 80 pound jet black mutt of a dog) over there I can never find her. Needless to say she does not come when she is called. Her not answering my pleas to come and my not being able to see her, especially in the dark is not a good combination. That is where my second use of the PupLight comes in. I slip the PupLight around her neck, turn it on and watch the blinking light disappear towards the back fence.
When Jaycee wears the PupLight I can see her, which does not mean I can catch her. If she does escape her yard or get away from me at night at least cars would be able to see her.
As I mentioned earlier, the light is very bright so make sure you turn the light on after you have put it around your dog’s neck. I almost blinded Jaycee by turning the light on first and then putting it around her neck.
The PupLight is advertised to work on any dog. I have an 80 pound dog and it is perfect, but I am not sure how it would work on a very small dog or a dog that is very low to the ground. The PupLight is 14.5 x 9.5 x .5 inches and weighs 5.6 ounces so you be the judge of whether your dog is big enough to use a PupLight. The PupLight uses AAA batteries.
I have an all black dog so having a light in the dark is a must and the PupLight is just the light to have.
