Hiking the Grand Canyon From Your Couch

Google has been developing some innovative products lately between the hiker view of the Grand Canyon and their car that a blind man can drive.   As a geek, I can see huge potential in both ideas.

Talk about a cool job . . . Google hikers wore 30 pound backpacks with cameras to capture what they saw as they hiked the Grand Canyon.  Their cameras snapped photos every 2.5 seconds which gives you a panoramic view of more than 75 miles of trails and roads.

If you are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon and want to pick your favorite trails, you can now preview and plan from the comfort of your couch.  Check out their Google’s Grand Canyon hiking view.  It is worth your visit.

A word of warning, I had some problems with Internet Explorer using their maps.  There were no problems with Firefox.
