You’ll Never Walk Alone Lyrics – Carousel – Rodgers & Hammerstein

There are so many beautiful songs about walking.

One of the most encouraging songs for those going through difficult times is ”You’ll Never Walk Alone” written by Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein.  The song was written for the stage musical “Carousel”  but the 1956 movie adaptation of “Carousel” featuring Gordon McRae and Shirley Jones is better known than the stage production.

Rodgers and Hammerstein were an incredible musical team in the golden age of musical theatre.

Memories of Walks on a Simple Road

The road to my Aunt Susie’s house would not be impressive to the casual observer but it is filled with memories for my family.

When I was in college, we had small family reunions at my parent’s house.  From there, my little nephews and I would walk a simple rural road to visit our aunt.

We all grew up with Disney World “where dreams come true” in our backyard but there was something magical

My Love – Justin Timberlake – Walking on the Beach

My Love by Justin Timberlake is a great song to motivate you to go walking on the beach with your love:

Because I can see us holding hands Walking on the beach our toes in the sand I can see us on the country side Sittin’ on the grass laying side by side You can be my baby Let me make you my lady Girl you amaze me Ain’t gotta do nothin’ crazy See

Treadmills are convenient but many people find them a boring way to work out.

Many of us have treadmills in our homes.  You can pick almost new ones up for a song on Craigslist and save the cost of a monthly gym membership.

You don’t have to put on special workout clothes.  Whenever you have a spare few minutes throughout your day, you can get some steps in.

On cold and rainy days,

“Show Me The Money” Helps Weight Loss

One of my favorite movie scenes is Jerry McGuire’s “Show me the Money”

The bottomline with Cuba Gooding Jr’s character, Rod Tidwell,  is to show him the money.  This famous line won Gooding an Oscar.

Appears that money talks when it comes to retaining a football client and money talks when it comes to losing weight.

A recent study by the Mayo Clinic found that a mere $20 per month incentive helped dieters meet their weight

Good Samaritan Meets Young Man Walking 10 Miles for a Job Interview

Do You Ever Complain About Your Commute?

One freezing snow packed day last week, Art Bouvier AKA Papa of Papa Roux’s was clearing the parking lot of his Indianapolis Cajun restaurant.  As fate would have it, a young Indianapolis teen walking by asked him how far it was to 10th and Sherman.

According to Papa, “I told him it was quite a way away. At least 6 or 7 miles. I suggested that he would

Amicalola Falls North Georgia State Park

Amicalola Falls is a little over an hour’s drive from Atlanta.  The falls are near Dawsonville, Georgia which is the home of the upscale North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall.

Enjoy our favorite combination for a weekend getaway . . .  great outdoor hiking trails combined with more city-like activities of shopping for bargains.

Amicalola Falls is also close to the quaint town of Dahlonega where you can pan for gold.  If you are lucky, you

Flower Shopping in Winter

In Atlanta, our weather is rotating between days of freezing cold, rain and sunny spring like warmth.

Our daffodils are totally confused.  They are springing up in the winter.

Seeing the promise of spring, it is the perfect time to check out nurseries to join the daffodils in bringing spring color to your home or office.

Even though I am a huge fan of destination walking , there are times when you can’t walk to your favorite specialty stores.
